Franklin Elementary
Franklin Elementary school is located at 600 E Street Northwest. The school was built in 1928 and has since served several generations of Ardmoreites. It was named for Benjamin Franklin, a founding father of the United States. From the 1950s through the 1990s the mascot of Franklin Elementary school was a rocket and we were known as the Franklin Rockets. In the year 2000, the nickname was changed to the Franklin Tigers to bring unity to our school system. Through the years, Franklin has produced teachers, doctors, lawyers, service workers, and may other successful adults. We are proud of our Franklin heritage and invite our community to visit.
Franklin incorporates a variety of special programs designed to help our students succeed in all areas. These programs include the Terrific Kids program which is sponsored by the Kiwanis Club. We also use the Boys Town Social Skills which was developed by Girls and Boys Town USA. We publish a weekly newsletter that goes home in each child’s Thursday folder and is also posted on our website. Our newsletter contains such information as upcoming events, the weekly menu, and other pertinent information.
Our main entrance is the south entrance on 6th street Northwest. Our car riders and walkers leave from the West side of the playground each day. Our bus students and day care students leave from the North entrance when school ends at 3:30.
